Immerse yourself in one of the world's most spectacular reef destinations!
Heron Island is a true coral cay, located right on the outer Great Barrier Reef. The island is ribboned by sugar white sands, crystal clear waters and acres of brilliant coral with beautifully colored marine life. At this World Heritage-listed Marine National Park, all flora and fauna are protected, so the island is a nature lover's paradise where the emphasis is on enjoying natural beauty. Stress is replaced by a sense of adventure and days are filled with discovery.
Heron Island is world famous for its fantastic scuba diving and snorkeling. Experience some of Australia's best dive spots - more than 30 dive sites are available, half of which are only 15 minutes away due to the island's location right atop the outer Great Barrier Reef.
Heron also offers many activities for non-divers such as guided island and reef walks, semi-submersible cruises and private beach picnics. An amazing array of animal and bird life can be discovered throughout the year, such as the delightful Green and Loggerhead turtles, nesting during our visit.
At Heron Island, you won't see any buildings above the treeline, as the resort has been thoughtfully designed to blend with the surrounding environment. We've reserved a variety of room packages for our group of no more than 16 divers:
Beachside Room $2995 Spacious partial ocean view room
Wistari Suite $3195 Garden view with A/C
Point Suite $3495 Reef view upgrade with A/C
Beach House $3795 Luxury upgrade with A/C
Learn more about the room types here. Beachside Rooms are cooled by natural sea breezes, while Wistari and Point Suites and the Beach House are air-conditioned.
You will need to have dived within the 12 months prior to this expedition, or be prepared to make a checkout dive. Additionally, all divers must complete a Diver Registration Form along with their reservation, and be aware that medications and conditions such as high blood pressure would need to be evaluated by a Queensland medical professional to determine fitness for diving.
